This Code of Practice is a policy document drawn up and
agreed by the executive of Riders and Drivers Associates
in 2004.
By joining Riders and Drivers Associates, members agree
to follow this Code.
The Code may be subject to periodic updating and revision. The
supremacy of the law in relation to this Code is recognised.
Operating Standards of Members
- It is the obligation of members to maintain at all times the
highest operating standards.
- All vehicles must be of a suitable type. Particular attention
must be paid to:
a) safety and roadworthiness
b) good condition and cleanliness.
- Riders and drivers should be:
a) competent, experienced and knowledgeable and in possession
of a full driving
licence, (except cycle couriers)
b) adequately insured for Road Traffic Act purposes
c) of good character, behaviour and attitude
d) clean and of smart appearance.
- Members should at all times encourage the highest possible standards
of safety in all aspects of their businesses.
- Members have a general obligation to avoid bringing the industry
into disrepute.
